400 million people across 80,000 villages in India still do not have access to electricity and depend on kerosene lamps for their lighting needs. For a vast majority of this population, a distributed approach towards power generation is better suited than a model based entirely on centralized grid supply. The two most popular means of generating energy in a distributed manner are biogas based systems and solar power systems, and both of these are growing in a big way in rural India – along with a rapid expansion of the existing grid.
Advait is actively participating in the mission of electrifying and lighting up rural India via the use of solar power. We have developed a range of high quality solar products that are well-suited for the rural environment and work with several partner organizations to take our products and solutions to the villages. Advait’s solar products are available under our
brand. One of the most impactful products in this context is the range of solar lanterns offered by us – which besides providing much higher quality light than kerosene lanterns, also contribute to better healthcare and education.
Along with deploying our solar products in rural India, we work closely with a number of NGOs and non-profit foundations to develop models for sustained socio-economic development via the use of solar powered solutions.
